Beautiful 14k yellow gold crystal pendant necklace on a 14k yellow gold chain necklace. The crystal pendant contains pieces of opal floating in glycerine liquid, a style originally developed by Horace Welch in the 1920s.
Most floating opal pendants are designed to contain a single bubble that remains above the opal pieces; a floating opal pendant with a bubble that is below the opal pieces is considered “defective”.
Pendant cap is marked “PAT 6-27-22”. Necklace clasp is marked “14k”, mini heart tag is marked “OR”.
Weighs 8.0 grams. Pendant measures about 11/16” widest by 1 ½” tall with bail. Chain necklace measures about 18” long.
Excellent vintage condition. Gently pre-owned.
