Description
Fine antique gold & diamond pocket watch can also be worn as a pendant. The watch case is engraved and set with five single cut nice white face-up round diamonds, estimated at .15 ct tw. The watch measures 27 mm wide, 40 mm tall with decorative loop, and 11mm deep with case. The white dial is marked ANNAL, with Roman numeral hours and black old clock style hands. The watch is
The back of the case is marked REMONTOIR (which means stem wound). Underneath are engraved badges featuring a castle, a right-facing portrait, a wreath, and possibly an insignia or standard. Below the badges is inscribed: Cylindre, 10 Rubis.
The watch case markings are German and Swiss. The crown is German assay mark for gold. In a shield outline is marked 56, 14k, and 0.585 (also a German mark). The case also has a large and small squirrel marks, which are Swiss marks for 14k gold. The movement is Swiss; 10 jewels would be equivalent to a 15 jewel lever movement. The case is also marked with a style or serial number: 64961.
The watch is in very fine condition, very light wear. There is a hairline crack in the dial. The watch will run, but would need a cleaning/service to keep time accurate.
